Smashbox Function 5 Self-Adjusting Powder Foundation

It's almost Eid here in Indonesia. Time for a celebration,and...a proper make up :). Eid or we say here Idul, are days for celebration for all moslems. There are 2 Eid(let's say it in my language,Idul): Idul Fitri(celebrate a new month,Syawal month which is the end of fasting month,Ramadhan). And Idul Adha,to commemorate the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God, but instead was able to sacrifice a ram (by God's command).Idul Adha is also time as a sign of the ending Hajj time-period(a pilgrimage to Mecca).   Right,it'll be an Idul Fitri day here. Family, colleagues, friends are coming, visiting and celebrating :)  Which means..make up^.^        So I think I'll write some of make up that I have in my cosmetic bag on my review now and later :)...

Some of you may wondering, what is my powder for make up application since I gave my mostly review about skincare.Sure I do wear make up,but I'm not a hype in make up stuffs. My daily make up are just:foundation/bb cream, concealer, powder, eye brow,lipstick/lipstain,blush on,and..i'm ready to go :D.. I don't wear kohl/kajjal/eyeliner daily, nor  eyeshadow since my eyes are sensitive, get itchy easily. One of eye makeup that I like is that mascara, mainly a clear/colorless mascara.   Eyeshadow?I prefer liquid, creamy,or stick eyeshadow than powdery one. Why?because the powdery one makes my eyes itchy sometimes.I wear eyeshadow sometimes when I'm in the mood of doing it. Yep..that's my make up routine.So..yes,I do have powder too :p..

My current powders are:this Smashbox function 5 self-adjusting powder foundation(compact powder),and palgantong theatrical powder(loose powder)-will review it later. My previous powders were Everyday Mineral, clinique,Red Earth,Oriflame, and some brands from my teenage era:bless(indonesian brand),Pigeon,Chicco,Johnson & Johnson,and...some other brands that i forget, sorry!.  I wore it when I was at my teen age.But really all baby powders producers like:Pigeon(japan),Chicco(Italy),Johnson & Johnson(USA),did make their compact powders version for face application here --with teenage as market target.

Smashbox function 5 self-adjusting powder foundation(ugh..what a long name),has 6 colors choices:
(If you find this swatch is confusing, sorry! This color swatch is what I got from some smashbox retail seller's web,as smashbox's official web don't give all the products shade that they've made)

F1-F2: for fairest skin,This for the fairest of complexions with pink skintones

L1-L2: for a very light skin,This is for fair to light complexions with neutral to yellow skintones

L3-L4: for a light skin, This is for light to medium complexions with neutral skintones complexions

M1-M2:for a medium-light skin

M3-M4:for a medium-dark skin,This is for medium to medium tan complexions with neutral skintones.

D1-D2:for a dark skin,This is for deep complexions

*basicaly,no.2-3 is darker than no.1-2

So I chose no.M1-M2 since M2-M3 is darker for me.When I wore this,my skin color just look like regular, not too pale, not too dark. It's good if you want a natural look. But it can't cover blemishes and scars. Frankly, the shade option is quite confusing me.I think I should choose L3-L4 instead of M1-M2.The color is just a barenaked,no cover at all.If you use this powder in wet application, you'll get a matte result/which is bolder, but this matte style is a NO-NO for me.I prefer to use it in dry application which is more natural. And this M1-M2 really can't cover my blemishes and post blemishes,so..I think L3-L4 will be better for my dry application. Anyway,I bought this online so don't ask me why I didn't choose the perfect colour :D...

This is what smashbox web said:
"This innovative non-drying, oil-absorbing powder foundation provides completely adjustable coverage depending on the brush you choose – it is 5 powders in 1! The revolutionary good-for-your-skin formula contains vitamins A, C, B5 & E, soybean extract to reduce redness, and Ribose, an all-natural corn extract that renews the appearance of skin. FUNCTION5 SELF-ADJUSTING POWDER FOUNDATION is oil-free, fragrance-free and paraben-free"

And the ingredients are:
Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Isocetyl Stearate, Zinc Stearate, Silica, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbic Acid, Retinyl Palmitate, Soy Isoflavones, Pantothenic Acid, Ubiquinone, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Nylon-12, Boron Nitride, Ribose, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Stearoxymethicone/Dimethicone Copolymer, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, Caprylyl Glycol, Hydrogenated Lecithin. May Contain: Mica, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide

Yes,this powder is non-drying,not oily either after hrs of application. The coverage is just average. There's a better version for powder coverage which is:Smashbox halo hydrating. This powder doesn't clog my pores, not itchy nor felt hot on my sensitive skin.Good packaging too(i like smashbox for their minimalist-modern packaging).Other women are crazy about MAC,but not me.Frankly,I don't heart MAC packaging(sorry for MAC lovers:) ).

Some tips for application that I get from the website:
CHOOSE YOUR COVERAGE:
SHEER - Apply with FAN BRUSH #22
LIGHT - Apply with POWDER BRUSH #1
MEDIUM - Apply with FACE & BODY BRUSH #19
FULL - Apply wet or dry with the sponge
FULL MATTE - Apply wet with FOUNDATION BRUSH #13 and then dry with the sponge
Well..for better coverage,we should apply it wet I guess.

I like this product,so I think i'll give this product 5 points.
