Physicians Formula Organic Wear:Sculpted Trio,Mascara,Liquid Foundation,& Eye Liner

I've just realized that I did focus on skincare more than on my make up last year so that I rarely post about my make up products. Oh,I did post about my hunts for good clean liquid foundation(and it's still..)and some lippies posts,but that's all. Umm..let me tell you that my style of make up is no make up make up look,so mostly what I wear daily will be:eyebrow pencil,liquid foundation or face powder(one of them,don't wear both daily),concealer,and lipcolor. That's it!I have blush ons,eyeshadows,but rarely wear it daily.One thing that I won't wear it daily,that is eyeliner.I hate eyeliner!My eyes are sensitive,so mostly after wearing eyeliner I'll get itchy so that I'll need to scratch it. So I'm always amazed to see how some girls adoring eyeliner since I hate it to the most.

Anywho,these are some of my make up collection from Physicians Formula Organic Wear.If you want to go for an organic drugstore brand,this brand certainly can't be missed!I'll review all of them in 1 post since I have many things to be posted and I just don't wanna take time to review each of these one by one. Here we go:

1.Physicians Formula Organic Wear Liquid Foundation in Natural Beige Organics

If you're familiar to this blog,you know that I've been looking for a good clean liquid foundation. I really like liquid foundation rather than powdery foundation.Because the result tends to be glowy, not cakey nor matte unlike powdery foundation.Since I've failed twice with my previous liquid foundie before,so this time I try this brand.Actually I wanted the tinted moisturizer one,it's more famous on PF organic wear line rather than the liquid foundation one.However it contains hemp seed oil that I'd rather not to take a risk to get the product here.You know,weeds are illegal here.I've ever posted about it here

I've heard that PFOW liquid foundation had"weird colour"on some reviews.Those who are caucasian,asian,the reviews said it's"weird",even some of those ladies had tried to buy another color of this collection!Still,I needed to try it.Turned out what those gurls said was right!What I chose was this natural beige organics color one.When it's applied on my skin,the color isn't either beige,nor yellow,nor white,nor even tan.I hardly describe what the color it is!Coverage is medium,buildable to heavy. What I dislike the most is that this feels waxy and sticky on my face though it's in liquid form.This product will give you glowing looks.

Overall,I don't like this product:indescribable color,waxy feeling.Things that I don't expect from a liquid foundation.However,since this is organic so I must appreciate it that way.I'll give this product 3 points out of 5.Please note that all of my liquid foundation review is based on the liquid foundation application alone(without giving powder on top of it).

2.Physicians Formula Organic Wear sculpted trio in Sun Kissed Organics

I always state that I'm a big fan of pressed powder instead of loose powder one.Because I have nose allergy,and that's why I also prefer to use liquid foundation one instead of powdery foundation one! So,of course I couldn't miss to try this pressed powder from PFOW.Actually PFOW has 2 pressed powders type:

I chose sculpted trio one since the concept was unique(highlighter,facepowder,and bronzer in one).What I chose was Sun Kissed Organics color one.

The product had mini angle blush brush.Since the bristle is made of natural bristle(sheep I guess?),so I don't use this brush but just a make up sponge instead.The casing of this product is unique,it's made of paper.Divided into 2 compartments,the bottom one contains mirror and compartment for brush/sponge.The upper one is the product.

This one has light citrusy scent.As you can see,there's a slight shimmer for the highlighter.However,this product falls to sheer coverage imo.I've tried to blend them all,it's still sheer.I used to use mineral make up,so this one deffy has less coverage than mineral make up one.

No wonder it has sheer coverage since the presence of minerals there is just to color the cornstarch and talc.After this one,I actually wanted to order Alicia Silverstone for Juice Beauty face powder:

However since the reviews here and there said that it has sheer,even poor coverage,I cancelled to buy it.I think the similarity between those products are this:they use organic powder as base,and then using minerals as colorants.And that's why both of them don't have good coverage.When it comes to coloring,we can't deny that the chart of the most pigmented one will be like this:

1.Synthetic colorants

2.Mineral colorants

3.Plant based colorants

I know that recently people are crazy about going organic and all those things as they concern about safety.I read that people now are starting to color their face with things organic like chocolate powder,turmeric powder,etc.There's nothing wrong with it,but if you're talking about make up,you're talking about this also:a matched to skintone color,staying power,and..coverage.And I'm not sure if those organic powders will have those things that a good make up should has compared to mineral colorants one,for example! It's really different between just a"coloring your face"product and a"good make up"product.They're totally different topic! Now you understand what I mean,and that's why I give this product 3 points out of 5 also.I actually wanted to give this product 2 points for overall performance,but I added 1 point since after all it has the effort to be..organic.

3.Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara in Ultra Black Organics

I think this is the most popular mascara in clean beauty category.Like,everyone on the alley has tried this!This was my 1st clean mascara.I like the idea of this mascara tube,very attractive!:) The result of this mascara was:not clumping,not brittle either.However as this wasn't waterproof at all,nor sweat proof so whenever I wore this,and my face got sweat,then my under eyes will start to get small patches of this mascara as I blink my eyes that turned to smudge on the area.So yes,you'll get panda eyes after that.

Actually,this is a very common thing in natural mascara as they're usually non waterproof formula.Oh,err..I think there isn't any natural waterproof mascara on the market,yet.Perhaps because there aren't any good biopolymers that has good result as good as synthetic polymers(which is silicone)one on the market.The synthetic polymers really does the job to coat the lashes well against water and sweat.Anyway,I forgot to take a swatch of this mascara,but you can see on Hayley's blog here.

Good thing about this mascara is that this one will actually lengthen your eyelashes after couple of applications:

I think it did!I liked this mascara alot despite the fact that it's not waterproof(but there's no waterproof natural mascara anyway,yet)so I'd give this mascara 4.5 points.

4.Physicians Formula Organic Wear Eyeliner in Black Olive Organics

As I previously said,I hate wearing eyeliner.Be it liquid,pencil,gel,since my eyes are sensitive.However,I still have to have one for that special ocassion like party.So I prefer to buy the pencil one.Why?it last longer than the liquid,or gel one since it has no water in it.This PFOW eyeliner is quite smooth,and sure..smudge.

Why?because of the same reason as the mascara has!Good things is,my eyes don't get itchy when I wear this so I think I'll get this eyeliner 4 points.

I think there're loopholes in natural & green cosmetic industry,especially on the make up area.Most of the products aren't waterproof(for mascara & eyeliner),sheer coverage(for liquid foundation & concealer),& less pigmented. So when it comes to make up,really..it's not just"coloring our face with something"...It has to be able to cover imperfection as well,and plus other abilities there.
