I wanted a good rosey color lipstick,so I bought this lipstick from 100% pure in rosepetal. Rose petal..sounds romantic and so does the colour. See the swatch here:

Actually the color isn't that red as you can see above,it's less pale.My camera white balance makes it darker than what actually it is and honestly I have no idea how to fix it since I'm not techie in photography thingy.And no photoshop in this blog pls,unless for watermarking. So basically the color is a nice red rose with a slight hint of pink in it.

A really nice color...on my hand!But not on my lips!! Somehow all of 100% pure lip colors products have the same hue which is: pink when it's applied on your lips. No matter color that you choose,pink,red,dark red,orange,even brown.....they all will look exactly the same color as it is IF ONLY you apply it on your anywhere part of your skin but lips area!By far I have 3 different colors for lips products from 100% pure collection: peach(it's orange),pink grapefruit(it's pink),and rose petal(it's rose color). But when applied on lips,they all come in one same shade:pink! I found this very weird,I thought it's only me and my lips chemical reaction so that those products turn pink on me. But it's not only me,I reckon at least 3 bloggers have experienced the same: Testedonhuman, Scremata,and EcoBelleElle. They're all from various skin color and nations,so it's about the product and not about who wears it.

So if you want red,brown,or purple color as your lipstick colors..you'll be dissapointed.They're all pink,what differs them is only whether it's soft pink,bright pink,or weird pink like this rose petal that I have.It's such a weird pink on my lips,I can't describe how weird it is.It's a bright,and bit pale pink at the same time. 

Just like my previous lipglaze from 100% pure(see here),texture of this lipstick is creamy,it smells fruity also.This one is sheer also(1 sweep),and this one also has no exp.date on its packaging.If you ask me why I still stand for a product with an unknown exp.date like that, my main and only reason is that their products are fruit pigmented. Periods.  Before buying this I asked the seller 1st whether this product is fresh on their selves or what,and the seller said it came 2 weeks before my purchases. 

Arrgh,seriously 100% pure..this no exp.date thingy makes me look like a fool as your customer for buying the product"blindly"!When will you put it on your products?and more..why not putting it??@_@

On my stand to still buying their products"blindly",true that the only reason was and will always be because of its source of colorants which is plant based.On my 2nd line of source of colorants is minerals,then on the 3rd is synthetic colorants. I avoid as much as possible to use animals as colorants.It's just not ethical and feels yuck for me,so no animals based colorants for me.

However,each colorants has its own goodness and badness.Plant based colorants are generally not highly pigmented compared to minerals and synthetic colorants. As for this 100% pure case,somehow the result is pink when it's applied on lips skin.Not all plant based colorants resulted in pink color like 100% pure does,however in general they aren't highly pigmented so that the lipstick result is generally sheer.

Minerals and synthetic colorants are more pigmented than plant based colorants.However,it brings the consequences of such amount of lead in lipstick(see this USFDA link)Yes,mineral colorants also possibly contain of lead since in their natural state lead does exists. The process of removing lead and refining the minerals reduces the natural state to a naturally derived state. If there's trace of lead that still can be found in some minerals based colorant products,so the biggest chance it has is that the lead hasn't been totally removed and refined.Or,that the color of the lipstick could be opaque.Opaque color has bigger leads level than sheer color one.Why?because to have such opaque color,you'll need to have stronger pigments(lots of amount number of colorants)on your product.Small amount number of colorants will only create sheer product,not opaque.Let's see this pic below:

I compare the same lipstick(not lipstick vs lipgloss) products in the same shade.Opaque lipstick fully cover your lip natural color.By seeing the result you can tell how many colorants that each of them need to create the product? That's why,more opaque = more lead.  Opaque lipstick can also be resulted from Titanium Dioxide as opacifying agent. True that Titanium Dioxide as the opacifying agent can be generally considered safe according to USFDA to be used in cosmetic product, however when an opaque lipstick contains high level amount of lead trace,it could be the combination of many factors in it(amount of colorants,lead removing process of Titanium Dioxide,synthetic colorants,etc).

Now,which one is better:mineral or synthetic/artificial colorants since they both may contain lead? The answer is minerals.Synthetic colorants have more toxins and health effect than minerals one plus they still have the same chance amount of lead trace.However,the synthetic colorant is the most pigmented one among all source of colorants.That's why it's still widely used simply because it's the cheapest and the most pigmented one.That's all.

So,seeing how complicated it is to create one good safe product with high pigmentation without high level of lead,this is why some of clean cosmetic producers still use carmine-CI 75470/E120(animal based colorant,from bug)as carmine can give wide array of red hue,something that plant based colorant hard to do. Or else they have to deal with synthetic colorants,or large number of minerals just to create good red pigmentation product.Both means lead. I personally don't take carmine as that it is a cruel product though it's "natural".

So in all if you want to have less lead in your lipstick,these are what you should do:

1.Buy plant based colorants product,this one generally has sheer result.

2.Buy mineral based colorants product,the sheer one since it has less lead than opaque one.

In all,the lead in lipstick can be basically a combination factors: amount of colorants,the less refined and removed lead in minerals color(remember,Titanium Dioxide is also a mineral colorant),and the using of synthetic/artificial colorants.As for this reason,I love 100% pure lip color products!.It's just they need some major improvement,especially the exp.date one. And...to bear in my mind to have 1 of their lip product only since they all have the same shade : pink.  Anywho,I'm a bit dissapointed with this rose petal purchase since I wished to have rosey color,red hue but instead I got pink hue.So I'll give this lipstick 3 points out of 5,I prefer my previous peach one.

Welcome to my"journey to find a good green liquid foundation"!.Oh,what a mouthful.So,if you have read or happened to read my previous post about my journey to find a good green liquid foundation before(read here),yes..this is my 2nd attempt of finding my good green liquid foundation.If you're like me who don't want to have nasty ingredients on your beauty products,you'll know that it's pretty difficult to do so.I was a sucker for BB creams for its good light,non heavy feeling,yet un cakey finish at the same time.So,having my self converted into green product ones,I also tried to find green BB cream for me as well.But by far I find nothing!!BB creams and silicone are good friends.And some other things that I don't want to have it listed on my beauty products inci.Since there's no green bb creams yet,so I source for tinted moisturizer,or even foundation,or...... anything please that has good ingredients and good finish result!!*Says me desperately*

I prefer liquid one since cream foundation is heavier and I don't like any heavy make up look,especially if you live in Indonesia here where you're like melting all the time with those sweats allover your face.

My 1st attempt with Almay foundation,results zero. So this time I go with pricier product from..my almost fave brand"100%pure". I bought this 100%pure tinted moisturizer in golden peach.This one retail price is 5x than my previous Almay pure blend foundation.Hoping for the best with that price?Sure,absolutely.Who wants to dump a 32USD product?certainly not me.

So,this product has 7 shades,previously it has 5 shades.The latest shade is cocoa.If you look at their official web to find the perfect shade for you,you'll be confused.Especially if you're an Asian like me with"a complicated skin tone(not that yellow and not that tan)".Previously it was like this:

I think my skin tone is between golden peach and toffee.Since I was confused so I tried to google the product in its actual color,I found this:

Didn't want to risk of having a foundation that is darker than my skintone,so I chose golden peach one.It's for those with yellow skin tone.

I'm having trouble in choosing make up colors,both online and offline shopping.Often that I did in the past,I went to cosmetic counter,picked products that I thought it'll be good and suits me best.End up when I wear the product on day light,it's either brighter,or darker in its actual color.Some stores have lighting that is deceiving.Back then I've ever bought L'oreal lipstick in a wine color(on the store),when I wear it on daylight,turned out to be it's a bright fuchsia!!Thanks to the store's light,which was yellow light.So,for me going online or offline shopping are just pretty much the same = I have to bear misleading color purchase.As for this time purchase,I'm glad it matches to my skin tone.And yes,buying something lighter than your skintone is better I think.I don't know you,but I don't want to look grey or ashy like I have pouring dust/sand on my skin.So I better bet my purchase on the lighter one.

The result of this tinted moisturizer is:very sheer!!It doesn't cover anything,it's just like you using a moisturizer with color on it,but the color did nothing to cover your imperfection.

It covers nothing!Yes it has the color,but doesn't color your skin at all. I remember that my dear blogger friend,Vivi has ever told me that 100%pure concealer that she's tried did nothing to cover.She's right!:/
What good things about this product is that it has dewy finish look,and has skin healing properties.Your face will feel smoootthhh after couple of application.Not clogging pore either.It has peachy smell,a bit sour.Part that I don't like the most about this product is that this has japanese honey suckle(lonicera japonica) in it.Japanese honey suckle is a natural paraben,something that I'd like to avoid.If you asked me why bought this back then,1st of all though I've managed my self to be pickier when I want to buy something,sometimes I can be sloppy by skimming ingredients list when I do the reading.2nd,I read somewhere that 100% pure made a denial about that japanese honey suckle=parabens issue.So between those 2 reasons,I made this purchase back then.And..yes,apparently japanesse honey suckle is a natural parabens.That said, I'm not happy with this ingredient at all. 

About the packaging,it's an airpump cosmetic botle packaging.It was sealed also(but I didn't take a pic of it,I just couldn't hardly wait to try it back then).On my previous posts about other 100%pure products that I've tried,there were no expiry date or something there.But then I checked on 100%pure official web,it said that"On each product, there is an open jar symbol with a number on it. That number indicates how long you can use the product once it is opened".Or as what you can see on the pic here:

I love tint products,be it lip tint,cheek tint,anything tinted products.Before making this conversion to clean and green beauty products,I have tried some liptints,so when I saw 100%pure had lip & cheek tint on their range,of course I deffy wanted to try.If you don't know what 100%pure brand is,or having a high curiousity about source of your make up colorants,read my prev.post here.If you're new and jump to this blog by accident,well..I know that some people are even just too lazy to click another link(I do it sometimes,hehehe...),so here I'll copy and paste from my previous post for you:

As you might know,when we buy colored cosmetic(lipstick,blush on,eyeshadow,even skincare),there're sources of cosmetic color that we buy.Now,what are sources of our cosmetic color?Generally it can be classified into these:

1.Plant

Sepia is obtained from cuttlefish, and Indian yellow is obtained from the urine of cows that have been force-fed mango leaves.The most famous animal that is made into color source of cosmetic will be cochineal.Cochineal is an insect that is used to make carmine color in food and cosmetic industry.Carmine color is extracted from the insect's body and eggs and mixed with aluminum or calcium salts to make carmine dye .The insects are killed by immersion in hot water (after which they are dried) or by exposure to sunlight, steam, or the heat of an oven. Each method produces a different colour that results in the varied appearance of commercial cochineal. The insects must be dried to about 30 percent of their original body weight before they can be stored without decaying.It takes about 70,000 insects to make one pound of cochineal dye.Okay,that torturing animal activity is enough to ban it from my cosmetic purchase.Also,I certainly don't want to see insect on my cosmetic product.More,if you're a moslem like me,carmine is haram according to some islamic religious council.Just google it for sure!;)Carmine is labelled as CI 75470,or E120.Carmine is also called Crimson Lake, Cochineal, Natural Red #4.And,carmine is widely used in food industry as well.Just check your candy or yoghurt.Basically,carmine is used to make red color in both food and cosmetic industry.Also,as a food dye it has been known to cause severe allergic reactions and anaphylactic shock in some people.

3.Mineral

The minerals are pulverized and mixed with a dispersing or spreading agent. Sometimes heating the minerals produces different hues.This mineral origins(elements, oxides, gemstones, salts, and complex salts)are insoluble,so can be defined as pigments.

4.Synthetic Color

Synthetic colorants are copies of vegetable, animal, and mineral-based colorants, and are made in a laboratory. Until the nineteenth century, all colorants were of natural origin. The first synthetically made commercial colorant, mauve, was developed from aniline, a coal tar derivative, by William Henry Perkins in 1856. Today, chemists arrange and manipulate complex organic compounds to make dyes of all colors. Synthetic dyes, made in a controlled atmosphere, are without impurities and the colors are more consistent from batch to batch.The most common synthetic colors used in cosmetics and hair dyes are called FD&C colors or D&C colors.FD&C colors means the colors has been certified by USFDA to be used in Food,Drugs,& Cosmetics. D&C colors means the color can be used in Drugs & Cosmetics only,and not in Food. FD&C and D&C colors are derived from coal tar, which in turn is a by-product of petroleum. Because some coal tar dyes have been known to cause cancer, they are are regulated by the USFDA as to the amount of lead or arsenic they contain, limiting these elements to 10 parts per million.Lake colors can also be derived from coal tar.Lakes are produced from the FD&C Dyes and are oil dispersible (but generally not oil soluble) and thus can be mixed with oils and fats. They can also be dispersed in other carriers such as propylene glycol, glycerin and sucrose (water and sugar).That's why it's often used in cosmetic industry since generally cosmetics are made of oil.So,if in our cosmetic there're either:"FD&C color,or D&C color,or Lake color"on ingredients list,it means the cosmetic uses synthetic color as the colorants.

Yeah,those are some of what I've posted before.For detil info,you can click whole of my prev.post about it here.So,basically 100%pure source their products colorants from fruits & vegetable as their pigments.By far,their lips products are my fave since I love to see plants as my cosmetic pigments.What I'm avoiding the most is animal colorants which is unfortunately,widely available.Even on some natural and green companies products.What i'm talking about here is carmine.Carmine is no.1 fave source colorants since it can produce various beautiful red hues.I deffy say no to insect on my cosmetic products(and ingesting insect is a yuck idea for me -__-..). Also,recently I found on the market that now producers tend to write the CI number instead of the common name for the color(for exp: FD&C Blue no.1,D&C Yellow no.10,etc)which is absolutely a big loss for consumers since they won't be able to differ whether their make up source of colorants are either from synthetic or mineral,or what???? There're thousands of colors on CI list,unless you're a pro in color industry,so it's impossible to detect which one is synthetic and which one is mineral/animal source of colorants just by reading the CI number on ingredients list. As a consumer,I have the right for such info before making a buying decision of a product. And now they just don't give it....Haha..well,they can still continue doing such things forever,personally I'll deffy leave those kind of producers :).

Now,how about this product?Well,the packaging is simple but cute imo.It came with a plastic seal wrapped arround it.

I was confused about what color to pick honestly.I don't like either sheer or shimmer,so what left for me are shades: peach glow,pink grapefruit glow,and cranberry glow.But from the swatch what I love the most was sugar plum sheer color.However,I was worried of the word"plum"since in the past,all lipstick that I had with plum word in it always ended up they had mauve/violet color. I can't imagine a violet color on my cheek,it'll deffy look more like bruises on my cheeks rather than a healthy cheek!Beside,the picture can be mistaken in the actual color. Then,between peach glow,pink grapefruit glow,and cranberry glow,I could only choose pink grapefruit glow or cranberry glow since I already ordered my lipglaze in peach color.I don't want to have 2 products in peach color since they can substitute each other(yep,you can use your lipstick as your blush on too;) ).So,only pink grapefruit glow and cranberry glow left.The cranberry one looked tempting,but again the extra red color made me worried.Yeah,I don't want it to make me look like I've been slapped or something.So I chose this pink grapefruit glow shade.And this is the swatch on my hand and paper:

Overall I like this product.But I won't give it high ratings.Why?simply because it has no expiry date printed on it.Just like my previous 100%pure lipglaze,I'll give this product a 4.5 points.Nice product,they just need to provide a better info for consumers about its expiry date.That's all I can post for now.Thank you for Reading:)  And please,don't be hesitated to share some of the joy you have today for those in need below:

I'm super excited to write this review.First,I love product that I recently purchased.Second,this is an interesting topic(well..at least for me;) ). If you often visit read my blog,you'll notice that now(hmm,actually the beginning of this year)I'm converting my cosmetics into less artificial-chemical products,in the hope of achieving toxic free cosmetics.Well,at least I'm minimizing it into certain level.While converting it,my main focus is absolutely finding safe lipstick products for me.I don't want to voluntarily ingest-swallow harmfull chemical in the name of anything(high end brand,highly raves,good packaging,etc etc).I may tolerate foundation,blush on products,but certainly not to lips products.

As you might know,when we buy colored cosmetic(lipstick,blush on,eyeshadow,even skincare),there're sources of cosmetic color that we buy.Now,what are sources of our cosmetic color?Generally it can be classified into these:

1.Plant

Now,what is CI in our cosmetic color ingredients list?CI stands for Color Index.That is the system that has been devised by The Society of Dyers and Colourists and the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists.The system consists of the common name for the color, and a five-digit identification number(for example CI 75470 for Carmine,CI 75300 for Curcumin,etc).CI number is only a color index,CI number doesn't mean the color has been certified by USFDA.CI number contains colors of plants,animal,mineral,and synthetic origins.Colors of plants,animal,mineral colors must be approved by the FDA for use in edibles, cosmetics and drugs, but are not subject to batch certification.Synthetic colors are subject to certification(see"synthetic color"above^^).In Europe,they use E number instead(for example:E120 for Carmine,E100 for curcumin,etc).E number isn't used for color index only,it's number codes for food additives that have been assessed for use within the European Union (the "E" prefix stands for "Europe").E100-E199 are for colors.The rest are for preservatives,flavour enhancers,stabilizers,etc.However,both Europe and USFDA have different standard on certification.If the color using USFDA standard of certification for complete issue,click this link:USFDA 

So why aren’t Natural(plants,animals,mineral)colors used more?Compared to artificial/synthetic colors, they are generally more expensive, the hues are less vibrant, the palate of available shades is limited, and they are not as concentrated.Stability can be effected by other ingredients and variations in pH. They generally have a short shelf life before fading occurs as compared to their artificial counterparts.However,there's this brand called"100% pure"that can make various shades using just fruits & vegetables as their pigments.Not only that,their products are vegan which means no animal derived. I've heard about mineral based colorants,but fruits based colorants really drag me in.Why?mineral based colorants are usually pigments which makes it easier to be used with oil in since mostly cosmetics are oil based.While plants colorants are usually non pigments(soluble in water)and not easy to be used in cosmetics which are oil based.So of course i'm interested in trying 100% pure make up products.Their fruit pigmented products are in patent pending process btw.They also have skincare range which is amazed me since they don't use synthetic filler,stabilizer,etc.But from their make up and skincare range,i'm interested in make up range more since there're other brands who can make such skincare in more affordable prices.But for fruits pigmented make up,only 100% pure who does it.

And,this is what I purchased:100%pure lipglaze in peach.It came in silver casing with floral printed on it. So Pretty!! :) Ingredients list is printed on sealed plastic.

There're alot of colors available(see swatch below),but hard to find an online shop that carry a complete range of 100%pure make up,and ship it internationally.And the official web didn't ship it internationally(at least when I ordered this).So some online shop only carry some colors,limited choice.

I chose peach one because I've never had any orangey lipstick. 

It looks really peach on the pic while actually in real it has slight a hint of pink color,not pure orange.If you only wear it 1 sweep,so it will give you sheer color.Sweep it 2 times or more,it will give you solid color in glossy finish. Staying power?in my experience,unless you buy lipstick labelled in"matte",so don't expect lipstick to last long.Also,if you have thin,small lips(which I do)so even if you have matte lipstick,you'll need to apply lipstick again once you've eaten something.

They add mica for shimmery effect,but this lipstick isn't shimmery at all.Just a'lil between glossy and watery finish.I like it!It also smells fruity and sweet.Texture is creamy,not waxy,but still not melted on Indonesia temperature which is generally warm.I like this lipstick,so I'll give this lipstick 5 points for the product.I remember soon after I wore this,and I was going to eat something I was like"Oh,I have to erase my lipstick because I don't want to swallow chemical stuffs in my lipsti...wait..this one is a blend of plants and wax!Oh,free of worries..!":D..  Ok,that's for the product.However,100%pure has a bad PR.Before purchasing this lipstick,I wrote an e-mail to ask them about the expiry date of 100%pure product.And,they never replied!Before that,I've ever sent e-mail to other companies,and they replied my e-mails.So here the product,I check for its expiry date,but by far I haven't found any.Thanks to my dear blogger friend Linusciaszek,now I know why. In US,FDA only require food products to put expiry date on it.On cosmetics,it's fully producers will.This 100%pure doesn't give it,but Badger gives it.For the bad PR and no expiry date,I'll give this product 4.5 points.So,those are my opinion about this product:).

Overall,I'm happy with the idea of fruit pigmented make up.If you ask me what I'll choose for my make up colorants,it'll be: 1st,plants. 2nd,Mineral. 3rd,Synthetic. I don't want animal as source of my make up colorants.It's just a yuck for me @_@...About the price,well..i'm in the process of converting my cosmetics into more toxic free ones.While doing it,now I see the difference.If I buy a cosmetic with plants or mineral colorants,yes the price maybe higher but it's worth what I've paid for(plants and mineral colorants are higher than synthetic ones).If I buy a cosmetic with synthetic colorants and the price is"cheap",so it's worth what I've paid for.What is bad is if I buy a cosmetic with synthetic colorants(which is less in price compared to natural ones),and cosmetic itself is priced high just because it's a high end brand so it's not worth the price that I've paid for. The worst is if I buy a cosmetic with synthetic colorants,harmfull preservatives,synthetic wax,mineral oil,and it's priced really high thanks to the high end brand,so what I get is nothing but a good packaging labelled under"high end brand". For me,what i buy should worth the money I've paid for. Cosmetic is different than fashion.For fashion,a branded bag may worth the money I spend for.But that's not what happens in cosmetic world,sometimes it goes reverse way.
